Bend
Bend is the characteristic of the flexible chute to flex around the long side of the chute where the side of the round or link rides. Bend allows for a smooth path in tight space gun and ammunition box connections
Twist
Twist is the characteristic of the flexible chute to rotate along its central axis 180 degrees in the most minimal distance. Twist allows for the extreme positive and negative gun elevations.
Fan
Fan is the characteristic of the flexible chute to flex around the short side of the chute where the base of the round rides. Fan allows for offset gun and ammunition box configurations to control the ammunition flow.
Standard Armament [SAI]
has been manufacturing custom ammunition handling products since 1950. SAI’s Manufacturing, Engineering and Administration is located in Glendale, California. This facility has over 25,000 square feet, and we are a ISO 9001 + AS9100 certified manufacture. Our core capabilities are in metal working. We have sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding (resistance and GTAW), and inspection. SAI Engineering works with our customers to provide ammunition handling products that are optimized for each customer’s application. SAI has the ability to work in all different materials including; Stainless steel, Aluminum, Titanium, Composites, and many more. These capabilities support our core business of the design and fabrication of Flexible Ammunition Feed Chutes. All of our products were initially designed to meet a specific customer application; therefore we have many configurations and options for each ammunition caliber. Through the years SAI has expanded our products to include Link Eject Chutes, Gun Adapters and Ammunition Boxes. The products shown here are a few examples of existing designs.
