Overview
The University of Tennessee Space Institute- Huntsville Research Center provides portals for complex aerospace and defense solutions for the Huntsville area by providing subject matter experts, research infrastructure, prototype testing, educational opportunities, and workforce development. The University of Tennessee Space Institute is dedicated to advancing Tennessee’s leadership role in aerospace and defense and is the focal point for all aerospace and defense work for the University of Tennessee. We bring a variety of expertise, capabilities, and facilities to collaborate on projects that serve to support national defense, space exploration and workforce development efforts of our commercial and government partners. Working with the University of Tennessee Space Institute - Huntsville Research Center will give you access to the knowledge and expertise throughout the entire University of Tennessee System.
The Huntsville Research Center is the University of Tennessee’s first out-of-state research office. Its goal is to connect federal agencies and industry leaders with the university’s researchers and capabilities in order to solve complex aerospace and defense challenges. Four key focus areas for the center include:
