Welcome to the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC)!

The National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) produces intelligence on foreign ground forces to enable U.S. decision advantage through competition, crisis, and conflict. As our nation’s designated ground force intelligence authority, NGIC delivers ground force intelligence across all domains to help prevent and decisively win wars. We are headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia, and belong to the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command under the Department of Defense.

NGIC evaluates and makes assessments regarding current and future scientific and technical capabilities and military capabilities of foreign ground forces. This analysis responds to requirements from operational commanders, military research and development communities, the Department of Defense, and national policymakers. NGIC is a member of the Intelligence Community, and represents the Army on matters of national security.
