Boston University (BU) is a large, R1 research, AAU member university. The Hariri Institute is a focal point for for research convergence and integrated initiatives at the nexus of the computational and data sciences
BU faculty do research in AI both as a core discipline itself and in its applications in other disciplines. Our work is co-funded by government grants and industry sponsorships and most of it is cross-disciplinary and collaborative, including joint work with other R1 universities. In addition, the BU AI Task Force is currently exploring the impact of AI on its education and research mission and will make specific policy and action recommendations in 2024.
