  • Lindsay Broadband is excited to announce the launch of its network UPS and customer premise UPS devices. These robust, competitively priced backup power solutions will keep customers connected during power outages.

    Lindsay’s LBUPS-900/1350 standby power supplies provide backup power for cable system networks in outdoor powering applications. They are available in 900 or 1350 W with line-interactive ferroresonant technology, and microprocessor controlled regulated quasi-square wave output. A 3.2” (8.1cm) color touch screen display enables user-friendly operation. Features include an intelligent battery management system with temperature compensation, excellent input, output and short circuit protection, easily accessible front panel connections, hot-swappable inverter modules, and field-selectable output voltage. Optional DOCSIS® / EuroDOCSISTM embedded status monitoring is available along with enclosures for pole or wall mount installations.

    Lindsay’s LBP-UPS-F devices are powerful, compact 12 VDC UPS solutions that provide backup power for the customer premise. They are available in 8- or 24-hour backup offerings and utilize lithium-ion battery technology. They can be used to back up 12 VDC devices such as routers, wireless routers, modems, cameras, RFoG nodes, PON ONTs, and access points. They feature full microprocessor function control, battery charge and safety management, zero transfer time output, surge protection, over voltage, overload and short circuit protection, LED status indicators, auto-start and manual on/off switch, last gasp 8 and 30 minute run times respectively, as well as telemetry.

  • Lindsay’s HFC extender device is designed for easy extensions of existing HFC networks. The HFC extender provides a suitable migration path and cost-effective connection of customers in rural areas using fiber optics without overbuilding the coaxial footprint of the HFC plant.

    The HFC extender includes a forward optical transmitter with an optical amplifier providing high output power to convert downstream RF signals to optical, and a reverse optical receiver to convert upstream optical signals to RF. Customers that previously could not be reached with the traditional HFC network can now be served by using the HFC extender in combination with Lindsay’s LBON series of mini RFoG nodes at the customer premise.

    Up to 16 rural subscribers can be reached within a distance of 20 km (65,000’ /12.5 mi) using this device. Many other designs can be implemented to serve up to 32 rural subscribers from a single device.

    The return receiver in the device is a DOCSIS® 3.1 capable, 204 MHz upstream bandwidth, wideband (1240 nm to 1620 nm; except 1540-1560 nm) multi diode receiver. The device is available with diplex filter splits to support DOCSIS 3.1 deployments. The maximum downstream bandwidth is 1218 MHz.

    The HFC extender can be mounted on a strand or a pole and is outdoor-rated for operation from -40°C to +60°C (-40°F to +140°F). The device comes in an IP65 outdoor-rated housing and can be powered locally through a dedicated powering port, or remotely by combining power on the RF port with 40-90 VAC HFC power. Power consumption is less than 18 watts.

    Lindsay offers end-to-end solutions for extending your existing HFC network including designing your network using our HFC extender, optical passives, optical taps, and RFoG CPEs.

  • Lindsay’s LHA38RM MDU amplifier can assist you with your DOCSIS® 3.1 upgrade and help you future-proof your system. This 1.22 GHz amplifier features field-upgradeable, hot-swappable filter modules for adjustable upstream and downstream frequency planning.

    The LHA38RM MDU amplifiers feature HFC powering (40-90 VAC, 15 VDC and mains 100-240 VAC powering), with a seamless upgrade to 42/54, 85/102 and 204/258 MHz. JXP type resistive attenuators offer unique control, and surge protection to 6 kV is provided on all ports. The device provides 38 dB forward gain and 24 dB reverse gain. The hardened outdoor housing with heat dissipation finned design ensures high performance without overheating.
