Speaker(s)
Description
In this second in a three-part workshop series about the intersection of advanced analytics and broadband network operations, technologists from CommScope and Ciena address different ways in which Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and automation are being put to work -- with good outcomes. First, CommScope’s David Virag explores the use of network-oriented ML algorithms on full-band downstream spectrum (captured from cable modems) to automate RF impairment mediation. Next, Petar Djukic, Ciena/Blue Planet’s Director of AI and Analytics, covers the rise of “AutoML” (automated machine learning) to automate traffic forecasting -- by hitching a Deep Neural Network (DNN) to architecture data and a hyper-parameter search. Ciena’s Salvatore Torrente closes the workshop with the latest on Augmented Reality as a tool for solving the tricky and thankless task that is reconciling physical (network) inventory with network inventories. Cox’s Christian Welin moderates.
