Description
Proactive Network Maintenance is an Expo mainstay, and this year's workshop won't disappoint. Why, because it is not now being applied to detect water in coaxial cables - a perennial industry problem - and to assess RF impairments in OFDM and OFDMA channels. Comcast's VP of Field Operations Kathy Fox kicks off the session (be sure to check out the long list of venerable co-authors with her) with details about how an adaptation of PNM standing wave spectral impairment detection can remotely identify and locate water-soaked cables. Next, Brady Volpe provides a readout of how much bandwidth can be recovered by using PMA to mitigate RF impairments in OFDM / OFDMA channels.
