Speaker(s)
Description
Join us for an engaging session about critical infrastructure connections to the grid, where Ken Johnson with Cable One will moderate the discussion on SOX-compliant management of energy consumption, utilizing energy resources, optimizing infrastructure technologies, and exploring new approaches to enhance reliability, efficiency, and sustainability in critical infrastructure operations.
Cable operators’ energy consuming asset portfolios can be extensive. To rise to the challenge of best managing each asset’s lifecycle and ensure account alignment, Comcast’s Rich Grivalsky will share development of an energy management database, a global identifier for all utility-tied assets, and integration with other tools for full lifecycle management.
ATX Networks’ Douglas Ridley will show how service providers can sell their unused energy storage back to utility companies, without affecting their backup power operations, using hybrid supercapacitors. These systems are ideal for storing energy in standby power systems and allow for participating in the Energy Imbalance Market (EIM).
Ron Slutter with EnerSys Energy Systems will share various evolving technologies including researching microgrids for different power systems, AC/DC power distribution, energy storage solutions, energy efficiency measures, evolving standards and safety, and adjusting power consumption timing.
