Speaker(s)
Description
We invite you to join us for the comprehensive cloud implementation overview moderated by Israel Madiedo of Izzi Telecom. Collectively, the discussion will inform attendees on how to architect connectivity and services for the cloud, by providing information about cloud versus multi-access edge computing (MEC) concerns, separation of control and user plane, and cost optimization. To get a better idea of the appropriate candidates for MEC, we need to have a clear overview of existing use cases. Yassar Abbas with Rogers Communications will provide a critical analysis of tested use cases including an international music jam session, augmented reality-based fan experience during a live NHL game, last-mile delivery using autonomous robots, and virtual reality banking experience. AWS’ Dr. Jennifer Andreoli-Fang will present an engaging look at control and user plane separation (CUPS), which allows a network operator to distribute resources throughout the network. Dr. Andreoli-Fang will present a DOCSIS CUPS architecture that can lead to standardization and discuss how to implement the architecture on public cloud. From the perspective of cost management, Comcast’s Ajay Gavagal explores financial measurement and optimization strategies in cloud computing, specifically targeting the virtualization of IP network functions. Gavagal delves into the challenges of consistent measurement, interprets cost and usage data, and recommends strategies for organizations.
