Positron’s GAM extends XGS-PON over the existing in-building coax to subscribers in MDUs. No rewiring, amplifiers or license fees are needed. Positron’s G.hn Access Multiplexer (GAM) now comes with native XGS-PON integration. Operators provision subscribers and activate services exactly the same way as when delivering Fiber to the Home (FTTH). The GAM then delivers Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over the existing coaxial cabling or telephone pairs of the brownfield MDU. This enables Managed Wi-Fi, smart buildings, and other value-add applications under the control of the Operator for increased ARPU and lower churn. Subscribers experience a higher quality service and MDU owners see an increase in the value of their property. Positron ‘s GAM and its XGS-PON integration is a finalist for Telecoms.com’s Glotel Award in 2023 for Fixed Network Evolution. It was also selected in 2022 by BTR as “One of the Top Products Available to the Cable Industry”.
