Turtle Fire Systems pioneered two industry leading and patented under-vehicle nozzles designed to mitigate the propagation of thermal runaway in electric vehicles. The original Turtle EV nozzle and our recently launched Mini Turtle Fire System are being used by municipal fire departments across the US and Canada, ARFF and US Military fire departments, and several major automotive manufacturers globally. Both devices have been successfully deployed in high-profile EV incidents.
Every feature of the Turtle EV nozzle was designed to allow for quick and safe deployment using tactics already familiar to the fire service. Its flow pattern can accommodate both low- and high-profile vehicles and the flow rate can be adjusted from 75 to 500+ GPM to address water availability and the varying stages of thermal runaway.
Our new Mini Turtle Fire System model offers the same key benefits of our original nozzle but in a more compact form.
At 33% smaller and supplied with two 1½” pipes, the Mini Turtle Fire System has been optimized for the following scenarios:
• In a parking structure off a standpipe system in conjunction with a gated wye for handline protection
• Ferries and tunnels operating with limited pump pressures
• Limited water supply
• Apparatus storage constraints
