Welcome! The Parkinson’s Foundation is a charity focused on improving the lives of those living with PD through improving care and advancing research. The Parkinson’s Foundation drives a multi-disciplinary research strategy to close the gaps in knowledge about PD. We fund:
• The science leading to a greater understanding of the biology of PD. Our grant program funds awards and grants for research to understand biology, neural circuitry, and symptoms.
• PD GENEration: Mapping the Future of Parkinson's Disease, our national initiative offering free genetic testing for PD-related genes and genetic counseling for people with PD to expand our knowledge of the disease and evolve therapies.
• Our Prevalence Project - a population health research on how PD impacts groups of individuals.
• The landmark Parkinson’s Outcomes Project - a nearly 15,000 participant-strong study of people with PD across five countries – has led to best care practices and accelerated research.
