Over 31 years of Serving - Feeding those in Need Since 1991

Our program was founded in 1991 by David H Horne who had a love for God's great outdoors and his fellow man. David saw the abundant population Virginia is blessed with in the white-tailed deer. He also saw the need that foodbanks and local feeding programs had in acquiring low fat high protein essential red meat for the clients they served.

Through the assistance and support from the Department of Wildlife Resources and through the participation of processors, feeding programs, financial donors, and donating hunters,  the program has grown to be one of the successful HftH programs in the U.S. Since its beginning the program has processed and distributed over 7.7 million pounds of venison which equates to over 30.9 million quarter pound servings being provided to foodbanks, missions, churches, and pantries statewide. This essential protein is provided at no cost to these agencies so it can be given at no charge to the clients they serve; men, women, children, the elderly, the homeless, and veterans struggling with food insecurity!
