George Park, owner and president of the company, has been in the seed business his entire life; as a teenager, he worked at his grandfather’s company, Park Seed, and various other seed companies in the U.S., learning the trade from the ground up.
George and Barbara started their own company, focused on direct sales to growers. The Parks began selling seed from their house. The original buyers were growers they already knew, and advertising was word of mouth from those customers.
Once the company outgrew their house, George and Barbara built the current office/warehouse at 121 Gary Rd in Hodges, SC. It includes a germination lab and a climate controlled seed storage area.
Along the way, George bought the Otis S. Twilley Seed Company. Twilley operations eventually moved to South Carolina, to the same warehouse where both companies share space and expertise.
