Simmons Tree Farms grows specimen trees, palms, for the landscape industry. All of our products are field grown. We focus on native trees, trees that thrive in Texas, and desert plants.
Most of our shade trees are grown in RootMaker bags. They are harvested & cured for three weeks prior to leaving the nursery. Popular varieties are Live Oak, Monterrey Oak, Cedar Elm, and Texas Mountain Laurel. We grow and sustainably harvest native trees, including Mesquite, Wild Olive, Ebony, and Texas Persimmons.
Our palm trees, agaves, & yuccas are field grown and B&B. Cold hardy palms include Texas Sabal, Mediterranean Fans, Pindos, Mule Palms, and Washingtonia filibusta. Palms that do well in the mid to south Texas include Chinese Fans, Pygmy Dates, True Dates, Silver Dates, Cocus, and Mexican Fan Palms.
Our desert items include Spanish Daggers, Yucca rostrata, Texas Sotol, & Blue Agaves.
Today, you will find over 30 varieties in our fields. But if we don't grow what you need, we probably have friends who do!
