**What is Sakimoto Awamori Distillery?**
Founded in 1902 in Shuri, Okinawa, this long-established Awamori distillery played a key role in reviving the industry after the war by discovering black koji mold, essential for Awamori production. Using coarse filtration and long-term aging, we craft Awamori with a rich aroma and deep flavor.
In 2020, the distillery relocated to the “Ryukyu Mura” cultural theme park in Onna Village, offering factory tours and tastings. We also create locally rooted products such as Awamori made with Onna’s own “Afuso Rice.”
